Angela Davis made this styling iconic in 1970. The afro made a serious comeback in 2010 when the natural hair movement really started gaining ground. Many of our black women took to the streets and workplace rocking a fierce ‘Fro. It was a surprise to see at first and was met with some resistance up until around 2012. It’s absolutely normal to see sisters pushing their natural afro today though.
